Jesus spoke saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matt. 28:18-20
PARTNERS IN CHRIST
•Christ Centered Ministries•
A few years ago, God
began to do a great work in the country of Nicaragua. In the last fifty
years, the country has experience several natural disasters, a communist
dict
atorship
and a devastating war. However, because of these hardships, people have
cried out
to God, and He has heard
their cry. God has prepared the soil, and through many faithful
missionaries, He
has planted the seed of the gospel of hope. Now, in obedience to His call,
we offer the assistance needed and guidance to the harvesters to “go and
make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the
Holy Spirit”. Short term mission teams work through established,
evangelical churches and other Christ-centered organizations to evangelize
targeted communities. God’s bountiful blessings pour out on both the giver
and the receiver of His love
PURPOSE STATEMENT
Partners In Christ exists to Glorify God and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ by mobilizing North American churches for strategic, effective international ministries in partnership with local believers.
MINISTRY GOALS
We desire to serve the Lord by:
· Mobilizing North American churches by facilitating short-term mission trips.
· Organize strategic, effective ministry opportunities for teams through partnerships with evangelical community churches, local believers and assistance organizations.
· Train the leaders of short term mission teams to enable the accomplishment of specific ministry projects.
· Assisting Christian leaders / workers around the world in developing and implementing discipleship programs in their respective communities.
MINISTRY FOCUS PROJECTS FOR TEAMS:
Discipleship and
Feeding Programs
- Partners in Christ (PIC) assists schools through
feeding programs
to the youngest and most needy children of the primary grades who can’t
even afford to
go to the public preschools. These children attend a preschool that is
facilitated by a partnering church.
Partners
In Christ provides the food and assists the
church to build a “kitchen” to prepare the food. PIC has also
established relationships with several public school administrators,
teachers and their surrounding communities which open the doors for
mission teams
to work in these schools and share the gospel with every student. The
schools are so receptive to the teams that permission has been granted
to form discipleship classes during school hours with the children.

· Through these discipleship classes, the gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is shared with the children on a regular basis. PIC’s ultimate goal is to get the families of these school children involved in a weekly Bible study and community Bible-based church. PIC plans to add schools to the feeding/discipleship program as God provides the necessary funds and support.
Evangelism
through Churches
- Partners In Christ has formed partnerships with several evangelical
organizations that help us team up with local churches. The
I
nstituto
Bíblica Bautista and
the Consejo Nacional de Pastores Evangélicos de Nicaragua (CNPEN).
Through
these two organizations, Partners in Christ is able to learn of good
pastors who need some extra
support. PIC is then able to partner with these pastors by sending
short-term mission teams
into their communities to revitalize the churches and reach new people
in the surrounding communities that may have never heard the gospel
before.
These short-term mission teams canvass a neighborhood, going
door-to-door witnessing, handing out tracts, and praying
with people in their homes. Teams can also minister to the community by
holding special revival services in the evenings and Bible school
activities for the children in the mornings, or by offering a medical
clinic, or completing a construction project, or all of the above – the
opportunities for mission teams are almost limitless. By partnering
with local community pastors, PIC is trusting to see thousands of people
come to a saving faith in Christ and receive ongoing support and
discipleship.
Orphanages
- Partners In Christ also offers the opportunity
for short-term mission
teams to work in orphanages ministering to the needs of children. There are
many orphanages across Nicaragua due to extreme poverty. Some of the
children in these
orphanages are true orphans or abandoned by their parents, but most are
there simply because their parents can’t afford to feed and clothe them.
Because the number of those in need is so great in Nicaragua, the government
cannot afford to provide for all of the needs of the orphanages.
Short-term teams can be a great blessing by doing light construction and
repairs, providing medical services, delivering new shoes or clothing for
the children, or simply by playing with the children and showing them the
unconditional love of Jesus Christ. PIC has seen many life-changing
relationships formed between team members and these precious children.
Construction
– Partners
In Christ partners with evangelical churches
in targeted
communities and often teams have the opportunity to assist these
churches with improvements
to the facility that helps the church reach out to more people. It is a
powerful, doubl
e
blessing for a
team to assist with building projects on a church or a pastor’s home.
There is
a great need
for this because the
churches are very poor and they often cannot even pay
their pastors a living wage. Most
pastors must work
two jobs to support their families. The bonds of Christian brotherhood
that grow from a week of hard work and worship together last for many
years. This partnership will allow those teams interested in focusing on
construction
to do so though a Christ-centered ministry which utilizes the expertise,
talents and local construction methods of native Nicaraguans and still
provides many opportunities to share the gospel with the families and
communities in which the team is working.
Medical Missions
- Partners In Christ has formed a partnership
with Baptist Hospital in Managua Nicaragua. Through this partnership we are
able to perform much more
delicate
medical procedures
than
are normally performed in barrios or small towns. Baptist Hospital opens up
all of their facilities
to us any time we need them. In addition, the hospital has
offered the use
their Mobile Medical
Van which has two examination rooms and other useful features. With this van
a medical team
can get set up and see many more patients and go to more places than ever possible
before. The medical needs in Nicaragua are great
as with
other needs. Most people
simply can not afford medical attention no matter how bad their
ailment or condition. When a mission team of medical, paramedical and
support people come into a church or
targeted community, the
one with medical needs finds healing
and comfort for his physical needs and often finds healing for his soul as
well.
Vocational Center
- By working with the Nicaraguan Ministry of Families (Mi
Familia), PIC has learned of the great need for
vocational training and education
for abandoned teenagers.
After children reach a certain age, usually 12 to 15, many of them wi
ll
run away from orphanages and live on the streets. They have no job skills
and minimal
education, so they usually turn to a life of begging, drugs, or prostitution
– there is not much
hope for them. God has
laid it on the hearts of
those involved with PIC to purchase land that will one day become a facility
that will house these young adults and bring them
up in a loving Christian
home and at the same time teach these young men and women how to be
responsible adults. There will be many opportunities for these youngsters
from on-site vocational learning to going to the university in Managua. At
the PIC facility, they will have
a safe, secure place to live; they will receive extensive discipleship
training; and they will be taught a trade that will enable them to become
self-supporting, Christian adults. Partners In
Christ believes
that the only way to make
a difference in Nicaragua’s future is by making a difference
in the lives of its children.
Partners
In Christ is a full-time, ongoing ministry in
Nicaragua. The only w
ay
that PIC can continue to
exist and
maintain its projects is through the support and generosity
of other Christians who want to make a difference for Christ. You can
support PIC through your prayers for
the ministry,
through monetary support, or by forming short-term mission teams that
will provide
invaluable
resources and assistance to PIC projects. PIC will make all of the
travel arrangements and provide the accommodations in Nicaragua for your
team. God has provided PIC with
a beautiful house that can accommodate
up to 35 people, a cook, house staff, and Christian translators that
will meet your team’s needs so that they can accomplish their goals
while in Nicaragua
